UNDER THE
SAME MOON
THE CHALLENGE
Redesign a 27” x 40” poster for an existing film. The final design should use a strong relationship between composition and typography to promote the movie and illustrate its story.
THE APPROACH
I reimagined a poster for Under the Same Moon (La Misma Luna in Spanish) using highly expressive imagery. I kept the story of a mother and son facing geographic and sociopolitical challenges at the heart of all ideas. The moon served as a symbol of love and unity throughout the film; this figure needed to play a prominent role in the final design. After conducting visual research, sketching, painting, and making digital edits, I created a poster with manual care that conveys the movie’s theme to passersby.
